Driving down I-4 this morning listening to my usual Unfiltered Politics, I caught the tail end of “a fascinating discussion on an inside look at making and shaping news as a White House Press Secretary, the government’s most visible political communicator” from George Washington University. The topic of political communication caught my attention and, for the first time in a while, I thought about going back to school. In the past, I couldn’t even tell you the differences between a Democrat and a Republican and I’m still not sure my explanation would be accurate, but I feel compelled to try and understand politics, while listening to P.O.T.U.S. on Sirius XM, even though I’m not a member of any party and have never voted in an election except for third grade student council. It’s still nice to know the basics. After all, Plato said, “Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber.”
